Alexis Díaz nació en Pasto y comenzó su vida musical en la Red de escuelas de formación musical de dicha ciudad, con el maestro Angelo Dávila. Ha sido ganador y finalista en diferentes concursos como el Concurso departamental de bandas sinfónicas de Samaniego, el Concurso de solistas de la Banda sinfónica de la Univiersidad del Cuca y el Festival Petronio Álvarez. Se desempeña también como director, compositor y arreglista de la Murga La Parrandera, con la cual ha participado numerosas veces en el Carnaval de negros y blancos. Actualmente se encuentra realizando sus estudios en saxofón en la Universidad del Cauca, con la maestra Sanda Paola Jimenez. En esta ocasión presentará un programa con música de Darius Milhaud, Pedro Iturraldo y Barry Cockcroft, entre otros.
